A fairly common species in Northern Scandinavian coniferous forests. Placed in subgenus Sericeocybe, it is related to C. diosmus Kühn. and to C. malachius (Fr.:Fr.)Fr. Dedicated to the memory of Nils Suber, nestor of contemporary Swedish mycology.
